Name:  Thomas Milich

Family:  No wife yet…still looking.  Mother  & Father live in Riverside.  Sister lives in Norco.  One brother works for US Forest Service in Arizona and my other brother owns Burger King Restaurants and lives in Texas.

Education:  Graduated from Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights in 1979.  BS in Kinesiology from Cal State University Fullerton in 1988.  70 post graduate units, one of these days I will consolidate them and come up with a Masters Degree.

Courses you teach:  I teach Drivers Education, Health and PE in the Saddleback Unified School District.  I hope to move to Capo Unified as soon as something opens up.

Years Coaching Wrestling:

At SCHS – This is starting my 5th year here at SCHS (2002 – Present).

Other schools – I coached for 8 years at Troy High School (1982 – 1991) and had 4 state qualifiers.  I coached for 9 years at Kennedy High School (1991 – 2000) and had 11 state qualifiers and one state place winner.  I coached for 2 years at El Toro High School (2000 -2002) and had 2 state qualifiers.

Years of coaching sports other than wrestling:

Not really sure how many years of service to other sports but I have coached in the past:  Football, Tennis, Water Polo and Track.  Oh yeah, can’t forget that “Underwater Basket Weaving”.

Athletic experience – your participation:

I wrestled for all 4 years in High School.  I was only average qualifying for CIF.  I played Football for my first two years then realized that a 130lb. football player will only take up space on the side line.  My last two years in High School I played Water Polo.  I determined this sport is tough enough and would help get me ready for Wrestling.  I wrestled for two years at Junior College (Mt. San Antonio JC).  By the time I explored around (finding my way) I had lost all my eligibility and could not wrestle at the University level when I finally got there.

Hobbies or things you enjoy doing:

I really enjoy White Water River Rafting.  I have rafted some of the best river in the State of California.  I have also kayaked on the American River.  I enjoy repelling off cliffs and boast that I can do 360’s while repelling.  I like to water ski also.   I have also Bungee Jumped and have done “Rapid Walking”.  Rapid Walking is where you go out into the middle of a very swift moving river and attempt to walk up the river.  Sometimes you get swept down river then have to continue the climb up.  I enjoy road racing on bikes.  I have done numerous 100, 75 and 50 mile bike races.  At one point of my life I was riding between 200 and 300 miles per week.  Recently I have gotten into fishing (darn you Cal).  I never thought that it was something that I could get into, but I like it.  Some of the things that I am looking forward to doing in the future include are:  Feeding the sharks by hand while diving down in the Bahamas, Sky Diving and Driving on a race track at high speeds.
